Damien Sandow is remembered primarily for his comedic mugging, including dressing as Magneto for a segment with X-Men actor Hugh Jackman and, most effectively, serving as the Miz's long-suffering homonculus. His finest moment in a WWE ring came in 2013, where for a moment he looked like he might just be a really big deal.

Sandow had won a surprise Money in the Bank match and on Raw cashed in his championship against John Cena, who was nursing an injured elbow from the previous night's pay-per-view.

Sandow battered Cena's injured arm with the briefcase and the match began, with Sandow showing a level of aggression and believable viciousness never permitted by his various comedic roles. The match leveraged the drama of a contract cash-in to hype up the Raw crowd and saw Cena selling his elbow to a relentless Sandow assault.

In retrospect, the cash-in was probably set up solely to make sure Cena wasn't the only man to fail to turn the briefcase into a title win. Sandow, though, didn't let that stand as an excuse not to put in the performance of his main roster career.
