10 Great Reasons WWE Fans Need To Believe In Dean Ambrose
3. His Character Is Real
Hulk Hogan was a megastar in WWE. He brought the company to the mainstream in a way that had never been done before and he made more money for Vince McMahon than anyone ever had. He was over to the moon and he stayed that way for years. However, the WWE audience eventually changed and suddenly Hogan was not cool anymore. The bottom line for many fans was that he just wasn't real. From his Hollywood ambitions to his superhero persona to his larger than life gimmick, the crowd began to feel like they couldn't relate to him anymore. He was not one of them and they knew it. It's no mystery why hardworking stars like Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels got over after Hogan; fans looked at them and saw themselves. That is the way it's been in WWE for quite a while now, as evidenced by the Austin era and later the Summer of Punk. Dean Ambrose has that same aura about him and it's one of the things that is allowing him to succeed now. When fans look at Ambrose, they see a regular guy, someone that has worked hard for what he wanted and has made his dreams come true. The crowd believes in him and that is due in large part to the fact that he is one of them. He is getting over not because of an unattainable image that fans cannot relate to, that would never work for him. Ambrose is the real deal and it is paying off for him every time he's on camera.
