10 Great Wrestlers Who Never Got Over In WWE

How much longer does the name ‘Shorty G’ have to exist? Chad Gable. His name is Chad Gable. You could call him ‘Kurt Angle 2.0’, but the former American Alpha man is yet another example of WWE creative failing a performer by trying to do too much. When Shorty G enters the arena, he does so to groans and audible boredom.

Which is criminal, as Gable is one of the most exciting performers on the roster. Few things in pro wrestling are as joyful as watching a small guy throw brutes around using nothing but technique and the small matter of wrestling genius, and few are as good at that as Gable. Nobody is. The way to get Chad Gable over is to have him be better at wrestling than everyone else. Simple.

Instead, Gable finds himself acting like an overgrown child in a man’s world. Shorty G was dead on arrival, and the gimmick was the final nail in a coffin marked ‘Getting Chad Gable Over’.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
