8. Roddy Piper Vs. Goldust
Where: WWF WrestleMania XII
The Match: A fired-up Roddy Piper stepped in for a WCW-bound Scott Hall to bounce Goldust around on a movie set at WrestleMania. Then, fans were treated to a little live action exposé in-ring that revealed that Goldie was wearing lingerie underneath his gold jumpsuit.
Why It Sucked: The majority of this 'Hollywood Backlot Brawl' was taped in advance the day before, meaning fans inside the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim watched the thing on archaic monitors. Unfortunately, trons back then weren't nearly as large or crystal clear as they are today.
WWE were still rocking those old 'video wall' screens back in 1996.
The upshot was that footage was grainy and too dark - it was fine for folks watching at home though. They could see the full picture, but fans in Arrowhead only really reacted for the tiny portion that played out in front of them in-ring. No wonder.
