10 Great WWE NXT Storylines You Don't Remember
9. Bull Gets Fit
Bull Dempsey had a few stops and starts during his NXT run in the mid-2010s. Initially used as an enhancement talent, he got a run as a midcard monster of sorts and feuded with the likes of Mojo Rawley and Baron Corbin.
After that, though, he was turned face with an oddly-entertaining gimmick. Dempsey, billed at 320 pounds, was now seen as too pudgy for his own good. After being chastised multiple times by NXT General Manager William Regal, Bull started appearing in vignettes advertising a new, "Bull-Fit" mindset - one of which saw him dressed in Zubaz pants, stumbling around a gym, and struggling through various exercises.
Anyone who fits in the "big and tall" category could instantly relate to what they saw on the screen. This was a funny enough comedy character that could've had some longevity to it, even if the "movement up the card" potential might have been limited.
Dempsey had a brief feud with Samoa Joe in early 2015 ahead of that star's NXT Title match with Finn Balor. However, those matches with Joe marked Dempsey's final TV appearances for the black and gold brand. He was released in early 2016 and has since popped up a few times around the independent scene.
