9. JBL Vs. Finlay - WrestleMania XXIV

Another 'Mania opener here, only this was a complete contrast to Van Dam vs. Regal.

The World's Second-Most Irish Stereotype, Finlay, and The World's Most Texas Stereotype, JBL, got into this fight over The World's Actual-Most Irish Stereotype, Hornswoggle.

This was around the time of the "Hornswoggle is Vince McMahon's son" storyline, after it had been revealed that 'Swoggle was not actually the son of the chairman, but rather the son of Finlay.

It was JBL who broke this news to the world and it was also JBL who viciously attacked Hornswoggle inside a steel cage, beating him half to death. This set up a match between JBL and Hornswoggle's dear old dad for 'Mania.

Finlay and JBL engaged in a "Belfast Brawl", which was basically a No DQ match on WWE 2K19, but with all the items except trash cans turned off.

The match was absolutely brutal, with head shots aplenty, and ended when JBL hit a vicious-looking Clothesline From Hell on Finlay for the pin.

Far from a technical classic, this match was still very entertaining and helped hype up the crowd for what turned out to be a very enjoyable pay-per-view. Not bad for a story about a leprechaun.
