WrestleManias from the '80s were comprised mostly of sub-ten minute matches, but most of them were fairly innocuous affairs. This match, however...

Warrior and Rude had one of the all-time classic Intercontinental Championship feuds. Things came to a head at WrestleMania V in a match billed as the semi-main event of this show. Whilst it was never going to have the same heat as Hogan vs. Savage in the final match, on any other night, this bout could easily have closed the show.

The match is most famous for its ending, a finish that has been recreated numerous times throughout history. When Warrior had Rude up for a suplex, Heenan grabbed his legs and knocked him down. Rude then fell on top of the Warrior, whilst Heenan held down his legs from outside of the ring, allowing Rude to get the three count.

Thanks to this iconic finish, Rude captured his first Intercontinental Championship and established himself as a major player in the company. He and Warrior would continue to feud throughout the year and even into the next one, when they battled for the WWF Championship.

However, this match went under ten minutes, whilst Ted DiBiase vs. Brutus Beefcake went over. Figure that one out.
