Another opening contest, yet another wildly different style.

It's hard to believe, but John Cena used to be a popular up-and-comer in WWE. In his first WrestleMania appearance, The Doctor of Thuganomics took on The World's Largest Athlete for his United States Championship with the crowd firmly in his corner.

Cena and Big Show were perfect foils for each other. Cena was young and athletic, whilst Show was a towering hulk, ready to crush the rookie performer's dreams of 'Mania glory.

What makes this match particularly interesting is the presentation of Cena. He's definitely a babyface, but he's a babyface who's willing to break the rules and embrace a more heelish attitude.

The match ended with a great example of this. Cena snuck in a pair of brass knuckles and struck Show with them in a clearly heel move. But then, he hoisted the giant up on his shoulders to hit his finisher - then called the "FU" - in a classic babyface show of strength.

Cena captured his first singles title in this match and he did it in spectacular fashion. This match holds a special place in WWE's history and it was all over in less than ten minutes.
