10 Great WWE WrestleMania Matches That Went Under Ten Minutes
4. Trish Stratus Vs. Mickie James - WrestleMania 22
Before The Four Horsewomen came along, this was widely regarded as the greatest women's match in WrestleMania history.
Whilst many people talk about Trish Stratus' feud with Lita, it could be argued that her rivalry with Mickie James was as good, if not better.
Mickie portrayed a crazed stalker, obsessed with Stratus. She established herself as a psychotic heel and her obsession transferred from Trish to her Women's Championship. With the two women at constant loggerheads, a match was made for WrestleMania 22 with the belt on the line.
Despite being relatively inexperienced at the time, Mickie more than held her own with Trish and the two women had a natural chemistry in the ring.
The in-ring action was driven by the great story the two women were telling and Mickie played her part perfectly. She was an excellent opponent for Trish and was a deserving victor in this match, even if the ending was botched somewhat.
James vs. Stratus was miles ahead of anything else the women's division had seen at the time and set the precedent for storytelling from then on. This match had a huge impact, not just on one wrestler's career, but on an entire division. All in under 9 minutes.
