Ontario native Adam Copeland, better known to fans as Edge, has truly done it all in the wrestling business. Edge is one of the most decorated professional wrestlers of all-time, having won thirty-one championships in WWE overall; including four WWE titles, a record seven World Heavyweight Championships as well as combined fourteen Tag-Titles (seven with brother/childhood friend Christian). Furthermore, Edge is one of only two men to win King of the Ring, Money in the Bank and the Royal Rumble in his career. Being forced into retirement in 2011 due to a risk of neck-down paralysis or even death (good reasons), the former Brood member was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame the following year at only thirty-nine years of age.

Making his debut in 1997, it wasn’t long before Edge made a name for himself as both a singles and tag-team competitor. Enjoying no small amount of success in the company, “The Rated-R Superstar” truly experienced career making years in 2005 and 2006. Winning the first ever Money in the Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania 21, Edge would begin his gimmick as the Ultimate Opportunist. Finding himself in a personal rivalry with former friend Matt Hardy later in the year, the two would go on to have the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Feud of the Year. Wasting no time in 2006, Edge set the standard for all future Money in the Bank winners as he cashed in his title opportunity on a bloodied John Cena in January. Although that title reign itself was short lived, it was made memorable by the infamous “live sex celebration”. The Ultimate Opportunist would win the title a second time later that year and would once again win the PWI Feud of the Year alongside John Cena. The Rated-R Superstar continued to perform at a high level and create unforgettable moments until his aforementioned retirement in 2011.

Edge’s career may have been cut short due to injury, but he was fortunate enough to enjoy a legendary and trail-blazing tenure in the WWE. As he continues his life outside of wrestling he can rest easy knowing he is one of the best competitors of all time; and the second best Canadian.
