10 Greatest Champions In Professional Wrestling Today

1. Kazuchika Okada - IWGP Heavyweight Champion

The greatest pro wrestling champion currently walking this earth: The Rainmaker, Kazuchika Okada.

Fans had their doubts when Okada was christened the heir to the throne of New Japan. Since then, he has won over the hearts and minds of the wrestling world.

How did he do it? Sheer graft.

Think about the matches he has had since reclaiming the belt from Tetsuya Naito last year. He and Naomichi Marufuji took each other to the limit at King of Pro Wrestling. A returning Minoru Suzuki destroyed Okada's legs for what felt like three hours. Then he and Katsuyori Shibata laid everything on the line in the name of the title. It's still chilling to think about what they went through in that match.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, he and Kenny Omega put on a six-star match at the main event of Wrestle Kingdom XI. Okada and the IWGP Heavyweight Championship were quite simply made for each other. He is the man raising the bar in professional wrestling, and that belt will be around his waist for a long time to come.
