10 Greatest Debuts In WWE NXT History

3. Finn Balor

Prince Devitt had "star" written all over him long before he arrived in WWE, but becoming the "demon" he is today has only made it more evident that he is destined for major things in this business. After the excellent introduction of Hideo Itami in September 2014, fans were hyped to see how the rechristened Finn Balor would explode on the scene. With Itami getting outnumbered by The Ascension every week for two straight months, all signs pointed to Balor coming to his aid to even the odds. On the Nov. 6 edition of NXT, Balor made his premier appearance at Full Sail University, helping Itami annihilate The Ascension. What made the moment so special was how the name Finn Balor flashed across the screen before changing into Prince Devitt, though that was never seen by anyone other than the live crowd. Regardless, they popped big for Balor as he slowly made his way to the ring, hitting all of his signature spots and giving anyone who wasn't familiar with him a small taste of what he was capable of. Within a matter of months, Balor became "the man" on the black-and-yellow brand, unseating Kevin Owens as the NXT champion in July and winning the inaugural Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. He has yet to lose the prestigious prize, and due to his immense popularity, officials reportedly plan on keeping him as the face of the franchise for a while to come. I'd say no one could have seen that coming from the moment he debuted, but it was pretty apparent he was bound for greatness in WWE when he was signed.
