9. Tyson Kidd

Tyson Kidd has had quite the up-and-down career in the WWE, oscillating between Tag Team glory and B-show obscurity. One factor that’s been rather more consistent though is the execution of his flying elbow drop.

Kidd’s version is in fact a springboard variant, which is of course in keeping with much of his moveset. But as great as his many other springboard moves are, none are suite as crisp as the elbow he drops.

Like Hawkins, his body position is perfect, while taking advantage of the added give from launching from the ropes—rather than the turnbuckle—gives the move added height and distance.

However the move isn’t used as a major part of Kidd’s arsenal. It’s little more than a supporting player, with other manoeuvres such as his fisherman neckbreaker and the sharpshooter taking precedence.

As good as his springboard elbow drop is, that kind of subordination prevents Kidd from being mentioned in the same breath as some of the very top elbow droppers in history.
