5. Sting's Squadron Vs. The Dangerous Alliance, Wrestle War 1992 - War Games
In one of the most memorable and well-worked War Games of the 1990s, Sting's team of Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat and Nikita Koloff defeated The Dangerous Alliance, which included Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko. The Alliance had been the main heels of the WCW roster for months and had made Sting's life a living hell whenever they could. Leading into Wrestle War 1992, many people wondered whether this match could live up the bloody brawls of the past. The match did not disappoint, as many of the wrestlers were busted open and took stiff shot after stiff shot. Dave Meltzer himself gave this match his extremely rare 5-star rating, showing how well-worked and hard-hitting this match actually was. In the end, Larry Zbyszko grabbed the turnbuckle, which had been disconnected earlier in the match, and attempted to knock out Sting with it. Unfortunately for the heels, Sting ducked out of the way and Larry's weapon connected with teammate Bobby Eaton's shoulder. Sting got rid of Zbyszko and applied an armbar to Eaton, earning the victory for his team and driving the nail in the coffin of the Dangerous Alliance.
