6. Sting Vs. Lex Luger, Superbrawl II - Sting Captures WCW World Title For The First Time

In 1992, Sting had been embroiled in a feud with the Dangerous Alliance led by the evil Paul E Dangerously (known as Paul Heyman to today's fans). In the midst of this battle, he received a title shot against Lex Luger at SuperBrawl II. It was Sting's chance to capture his first-ever WCW world title and reclaim his position at the top of World Championship Wrestling. Despite interference from Luger's manager Harley Race, Sting managed to defeat Luger after a high cross body from the top rope. With his pinfall victory over Luger, the Stinger captured his first of six WCW world heavyweight titles and positioned the Sting vs. Dangerous Alliance angle at the top of WCW's main event. It also chased Luger from WCW, as he did not reappear in the promotion until 1995. Speaking of the Dangerous Alliance, Paul E Dangerously made it his mission to rid WCW of Sting because he was the "franchise" of the promotion. In response, Sting formed a group known as Sting's Squadron and challenged the Alliance to the most dangerous match of them all...
