Led By: Bret Hart Prominent Members: Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Brian Pillman Date(s): 1997 This flag waving Canadian Nationalist stable was unique, because its heel reputation depended upon where they fought. The Harts were natively based out of Calgary, and so whenever they traveled up north and dissed America, they got a heros welcome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUdzPE0PbhA For us Americans, The New Hart Foundation was a hard thing to reconcile. Bret Harts heel turn never felt quite right, and half the thrill was watching the ultimate babyface be a bad guy. The stable also helped usher in the Attitude Era, and the ongoing tension between Bret and Shawn, and between Bret and Vince made its way into the storyline, blurring the lines between kayfabe and real life.
