10 Greatest Ladder Matches In WWE History
9. Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match - WrestleMania 32
In all honesty, the inclusion of this match may betray my own bias, as it opened the first WrestleMania I ever attended. In fairness, however, it was the perfect curtain-jerker - perfectly skirting the line between well-paced set pieces and all-out chaos. It set a high benchmark for the rest of the show to follow (which ultimately, with the exception of the women's triple threat, it couldn't), and contained many crowd-popping moments.
All six competitors - Owens, Zayn, Sin Cara, Ziggler, Stardust, Miz, and Ryder - had their moment to shine, often in the form of impressive high spots. The stars of the show were unquestionably KO and Sami, whose vicious rivalry acted as the glue holding everything together, and culminated in a devastating suplex onto a prone ladder (which Owens appropriately sold like death, having landed headfirst).
The final twist in the tale was a surprise winner, as Ryder was able to unseat a cocky Miz, leading to a feel-good Intercontinental Championship win (even if his reign ended the following night on Raw).
