While we've recently been teased with the prospect of former Ring of Honor World Champion Jerry Lynn possibly battling Chris Jericho on AEW TV - with Lynn recently laid out by the Ocho - one other notable accolade that Jerry has to his name is that he's also a former ECW World Champion.

Having previously had a forgettable stint as Mr. J.L. in WCW, the Minnesota native landed in ECW in September 1997 and soon went about proving himself as one of the best in-ring workers in the company. In fact, one could even argue that Jerry Lynn was the best in-ring worker in ECW at certain times. Not just was Jerry smooth as silk from a technical standpoint, but he was never afraid of amping up the violence and brutality when called for.

So, one of the true highlights of ECW's final year, is that this icon of the company was finally able to get his hands of the ECW World Championship.

Sure, Lynn's solitary reign with the ECW World Title lasted barely a month - defeating Justin Credible for that prize at Anarchy Rulez in October 2000, before dropping it to Steve Corino at that year's November to Remember - but it would have been an utter travesty if ECW would've closed its doors without Jerry Lynn having ever reached the top of the mountain.
