10 Greatest World Title Changes That Didn't Take Place On PPV

5. Bowled Over - Sunday Night Heat (31 January 1999)

Halftime Heat was a pretty momentous endeavour for the WWF in 1999. Capitalising on the national interest in the Super Bowl, USA Network decided to counter the big game's famous Halftime Show with their own version, replacing the singing and dancing with all the action of their hottest brand.

The main attraction was the Empty Arena Match between The Rock and Mankind for 'The Great One's' WWF Championship. With the fight spewing out all across the venue, the action was brutal at times, funny in parts but entertaining throughout and continued the intense rivalry between Foley and Rock that had dominated the WWF Title picture for months.

The Rock abused his opponent with anything that wasn't nailed down, attacking his masked foe with everything from trash cans to popcorn bags. However, it was 'Mrs Foley's Baby Boy' that would walk out victorious. In one of the most outlandish title finishes ever, Mankind pinned The Rock with the aid of a forklift (and some rather suspect camera angles to boot), winning the WWF Championship for the second time.

For long time fans, the bout was also notable for the return of Vince McMahon to the commentary booth, with the Chairman donning the headset to provide commentary throughout. Furthermore, he did so alone without a colour man, making the presentation all the more unique.
