10 Greatest Wrestlers In Lucha Libre History
6. Kemonito
Status: Active.
A recent sensation of the ring and a relevant protagonist in Mexican meme culture, KeMonito is particularly liked amongst younger audiences. However, the wrestler under the furry suit has more than four decades of experience in the sport of holds and locks. Formerly known as Alushe and operating as the sidekick of several popular fighters throughout the years, KeMonito is a key figure in the efforts for inclusion in professional Lucha Libre.
KeMonito's career was reignited in 2015, when an unusual stunt on the ring became an instant meme that was shared tens of millions of times in Mexican social media. I won't share that awkward moment here, but you are free to look for it if you are curious.
Ever since, KeMonito has been featured everywhere. In talk shows and massive events; in music festivals and cans of energy drinks. He has also become a spokesman for the rights of people with disabilities in Mexican professional sports. In the above video, KeMonito faces his greatest enemy yet. Anime-style for dramatic effect, of course.
