When Stu Hart established Stampede Wrestling in Canada and opened the Hart Dungeon to train future wrestlers, he never could have predicted the impact that wrestling would have on his family and the lives of many others. Stu and Helen Hart had 12 children. All of the boys became wrestlers and all of the girls married wrestlers. The most successful of all of the sons was Bret Hart. Bret is a former 5-time WWF world champion and captured the company's Intercontinental and tag team titles. His younger brother, Owen Hart, became a star by being a whiny heel who cheated his way to victory and complained about being in the shadow of his older brother, Bret. In 1994, the two brothers had a feud in the WWF which culminated in a fantastic cage match in Chicago at Summerslam. The girls of the family married wrestlers like Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, the British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith, and Ben Bassarab. In turn, those marriages produced the controversial Teddy Hart, DH Smith, and current WWE Diva Natalya. The Harts became one of the most famous Canadian families in history, so much so that Stu's house was designated as a historical landmark by the Canadian government. Thousands of visitors still travel to the site each year and the word "Hart" has become synonymous with professional wrestling. In addition to his sons succeeding, Stu's Dungeon produced such future stars as Chris Jericho, Christian, and Mark Henry.
