Jack Doan is the poster boy for working from the bottom up in WWE. He started in October of 1991 as a truck driver for the World Wrestling Federation, eventually working as ring crew, sound board operator, and any other job that came along. He started refereeing part-time shortly after. In January of 1996, during Vader's Raw debut match, Doan had to come down when Vader refused to let-up on Savio Vega and had already attacked the original referee. Doan disqualified the Mastadon, which led to Vader pummeling Doan with several punches, a powerbomb, and an avalanche, squishing Doan against the turnbuckles and the combined weight of Vader and WWF President Gorilla Monsoon. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xqrajz_vader-attacks-gorilla-monsoon-raw-january-22-1996_sport Doan has another great distinction that should set him apart from all other referees; he was the closest to wearing championship gold. During Crash Holly's reign as the Hardcore Champion, the title was defended 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Doan removed his shirt and convinced fellow referee Jimmy Korderas to count the pin; sadly, Doan was unsuccessful. He was released from WWE in March of 2013.
