10 Greatest WWE SmackDown Endings

1. A Fight For Survival - 15 November 2001

Commonly referred to as "The Best SmackDown Ending Ever", this next entry more than lives up to its title.

As the go-home show before Survivor Series 2001, the 15 November episode of SmackDown was PPV worthy in itself. Featuring matches like DDP vs. Big Show, Booker T vs. The Undertaker, and RVD vs. Kane (as well as an awesome worked shoot promo from Paul Heyman), this entire episode is proof of just how outstanding the roster depth was at the time.

This fact was never more evident than in the main event, which featured Kurt Angle and Steve Austin of The Alliance taking on the WWF's Chris Jericho and The Rock. That alone would make for a memorable finale. However, the actual conclusion upped the ante tenfold.

After Austin was disqualified for going to work on 'The People's Champ' with a chair, the Alliance duo began to target Rock's ankle, only for The Undertaker to make the save. The two minutes that followed saw Booker T, RVD, Kane, Shane O'Mac, and Big Show all join the party, with virtually every man hitting their finish.

With all ten participants from the Survivor Series main event involved in the melee, the action was unrelenting and set the stage perfectly for the PPV. Meanwhile, it also set the bar for closing segments so high, it may never be topped.
