10 Greatest WWE World Title Storylines In WrestleMania History

5. Daniel Bryan Defies Triple H, Occupies Raw (2014)

Something had to be done. Fans were chanting for the departed CM Punk, and openly protesting the Road to WrestleMania 30, where unwelcome returnee Batista would challenge Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Viewers felt that Daniel Bryan had gotten the shaft since his main event run ended in the fall of 2013, and famously let WWE know it during the 2014 Royal Rumble match, from which Bryan was absent. Turning a negative into a positive, Bryan's war with The Authority became catalyst for transforming the WrestleMania main event. On March 10, 2014, Bryan invited members of the 'YES Movement' to occupy the ring, refusing to leave until he got a match with Triple H at WrestleMania. When a furious Helmsley acquiesced, Bryan milked his anger until he got a stipulation: if he wins, he joins Batista and Orton for a triple threat match for the gold. Angry Hunter again agreed, and the fans, for once, felt empowered.
