10 Gruesome WWE Injuries That Made Us Sick
3. Eddie Guerrero Bleeds Buckets (WWE Judgement Day 2004)
JBL was a stiff worker. He threw every ounce behind each Clothesline From Hell, regularly sending its victims to hell, and although he was never on par with Stan Hansen, the Lariat aficionado was a clear influence on the hard-nosed grappler's relentless style. JBL was more hesitant in his stiffness when he split from Faarooq, though, meaning that when it did shine through, his opponent knew about it.
Challenging defending WWE Champion Eddie Guerrero at Judgement Day 2004, JBL was due to smash Eddie's head in with a steel chair. Such spots were commonplace for the era and it worked exponentially to further the hatred between the pair in a tussle over sports entertainment's top prize, except Eddie bladed too deep. His face was a gory wreck, blood spewing everywhere, and the ring and surrounding areas resembled something akin to a murder scene more than they did a wrestling match.
It looked brutal because it was brutal. Eddie Guerrero wasn't a man known for regularly breaking the Muta Scale, so his self-inflicted blood-stained butchery made JBL look like a legitimate killer. The former Bradshaw didn't win the WWE Championship here, but when he did - at the following month's The Great American Bash - he was ready. That match, too, was murderous in execution, but nothing on this level.
