10 Haunting Pro Wrestling Moments

1. Kane Loses His Mask (And His Mind)

Five years of speculation culminated in one brief moment in time. The June 23, 2003 episode of Monday Night Raw is one of the most memorable in the long and storied history of the show, for one moment in particular, for it was on that night that one of the biggest mysteries in WWE would be solved as Kane removed his mask and showed the entire world what he really looked like. After a loss to World Heavyweight champion Triple H, the Big Red Monster was forced to unmask in front of a worldwide viewing audience and, true to his word and the pre-match stipulation, he did just that. The result? A gasp, then a quizzical look and some head scratching. The reveal was utterly disappointing as it became obvious that WWE Creative really had no idea what they were going for. Luckily for them, the weeks of television that followed would prove truly haunting as fans watched Kane engage in activities that proved more and more depraved, violent and sadistic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0JyPJHj2U94 First, he would light Jim Ross on fire, laughing maniacally as the legendary commentary screamed in agony. Then, he would brutally attack former tag team championship-winning partner Rob Van Dam. There was that time that he delivered a Tombstone piledriver to the innocent Linda McMahon, hooked jumper cables to her son Shane's testicles and tortured him with electricity. And how about the fact that he was led to the ring in chains, accompanied by police? Any one of those individual moments could have made this list. ALL of those moments could have made it. Instead, the Devil's Favorite Demon takes the top spot thanks to the insanity and violence that he dealt out in the summer of 2003. And beyond.
