10 Most Heated WWE Diva Rivalries

4. Sable vs. Luna

The 1998 rivalry between Sable and Luna was responsible for the former becoming a star for World Wrestling Entertainment on the level of Steve Austin, The Rock and The Undertaker. The object of many a fan boy's affection, Sable introduced raw sex appeal to Monday Night Raw and became the biggest female star the company had ever produced to that point. In February, just prior to the In Your House: No Way Out of Texas pay-per-view, Marc Mero and Goldust joined forces in an attempt to embarrass and humiliate Sable, whose star had begun to eclipse Mero's. Goldust's manager at the time, Luna, despised the Barbie doll-esque Sable and it was not long before the two of them became mixed up in wild scuffles at ringside. Sable lashed out, showing rage and anger for the first time and proving there was more to her than just the stunning bombshell of a woman that fans had come to be infatuated with. When Goldust put his hands on Sable shortly after the February pay-per-view, he drew the ire of Mero, who saw his manager as his property, property that only he was to touch. Mero brawled with Goldust, setting up a match between the two of them the following week in which Sable and Luna would be handcuffed to the ring posts. During the match, Goldust uncuffed Luna and the two of them used makeup to humiliate Sable before issuing a challenge for a mixed tag team match between the two pairings. Sable, in her breakout performance, proved herself every bit a hellcat as a lady, dishing out punishment to both Luna and Goldust before finishing the latter with a TKO to win the match for she and Mero. A month later, Sable and Luna would clash in the first-ever Evening Gown match at In Your House: Unforgiven. Unnerved by the attention being paid to Sable, Mero made his way to the ring and distracted her, allowing Luna to strip her of her dress for the win. Sable would get revenge seconds later, stripping Luna naked underneath the ring. The two would feud again in early-1999 but that program, much shorter-lived than their first, failed to pack the same punch that the original did. After all of the hard work Luna did to put Sable over, to give her that last push toward stardom, Sable would be gone from the company one year after she rose to stardom, the bright lights and attention of celebrity getting the best of her.
