Rey Mysterio and John Morrison are two of the most athletically exciting wrestlers to strut their stuff in a WWE ring over the past few decades, so it should come as no surprise that their sole singles match with the company was an absolute belter. Still, this SmackDown classic is often neglected when considering the PG Era's greatest matches, and that's a huge shame.

The idea of WWE giving two upper-midcarders more than 25 minutes to work an Intercontinental Title match on a random episode of SmackDown sounds ridiculous in 2017, but that's exactly what happened here, and the duo killed it. They took a while to get going, but an opening series of pinfall attempts soon gave way to the fast-paced action both are known for, and their flawless chemistry helped elevate it way above the average spotfest.

Sure, the duo got a little carried away with big moves late in the match, but the bout remained fun throughout. Morrison eventually put his opponent away following multiple finisher reversal, securing his first Intercontinental Title on the back of what remains the best singles match of his WWE career.
