10 Hidden Gems & Curiosities From WWE Network

1. Marty Jannetty Vs. Doink The Clown - Raw Episode 22 (1993)

Doink Jannetty
WWE

These two aren't really names to conjure with - one of the goofiest gimmicks in the WWE's history and the Other One from The Rockers. But they were both quality wrestlers (Doink was performed by the solid worker Matt Borne during this period) and they got to show it in this match snuggled among the Network's Raw Replays.

Their 2 Out Of 3 Falls match occurred on Episode 22 of Raw and saw Doink getting the crowd invested with his Pennywise act to help pump up Jannetty's generic babyface. The initially quiet crowd soon cheered everything Jannetty did, partly because Doink got more convincingly unwholesome as his face paint rubbed off.

The early match transitioned via a cracking Jannetty superkick into a final fall that saw Doink working Jannetty's leg and engaging in classic pantomimely shenanigans. Neither man stopped for breath in an example of how to tell a story in the ring, even when one of you is dressed as a clown.
