Ric Flair's bouffanted presence isn't lacking on the Network and this match is a lesser-known example of just why he was so special. The entry in the 'Greatest Matches Ever' collection pits the Nature Boy against Terry Funk's heel cowboy, who came complete with Morricone-esque Spaghetti Western entrance music.

Both men prove characteristically excellent at playing their part in their 'I Quit' match from 1989's Clash of the Champions IX. It was their characters, and the feel of high-stakes desperation, that carried the contest. Flair was at his imperious best, while Funk's branding iron-wielding blackhat felt properly deranged. Flair styled and profiled, Funk baited the crowd, the audience shrieked and hollered at everything, and Jim Ross called it all. Particularly notable are Flair's knife-edge chops which, while overdone now, look and sound like they could have knocked Funk's nipples clean off.

The match also comes from an era when an I Quit match could actually have a clean finish.
