10 Highly Underrated WWE SummerSlam Matches

3. Ric Flair Vs. Mick Foley (2006)

The feud was borne out of some dismissive comments Flair made about Foley in his 2004 autobiography, and somehow stretched out into a bloody, hate-filled I Quit match at the second or third biggest show of the year. Hard to believe that given the legendary status afforded to both charismatic main eventers that the match seems to be quite forgotten today.

Both men bled buckets, which is hardly surprising given the subjects. Foley's bizarre friendship with Melina was shoehorned into the match, and played into the finish, as Foley refused to quit, only doing so when Flair tried to maim Melina in a moment of inventive rage. Before the PG era came calling, this was one of the last violent matches that lacked detached cutesiness.
