10 Huge Mistakes TNA Copied From WCW

10. Giving Tag Team Titles To The Wrong Gender

When wrestling fans talk about some of the most ridiculous things that WCW ever came up with, Judy Bagwell becoming one half of the WCW Tag Team Champions is an ever-present in the conversation. Buff Bagwell's Mum became part of the storylines for some absurd reason and, after Rick Steiner won the tag straps (in spite of his partner Buff turning on him) he got to pick a new partner... and Judy Bagwell ended up as one half of the tag champs. Nobody would be stupid enough to repeat something as asinine as this, would they? Well, in TNA, male wrestler Eric Young got into a storyline romance with ODB and during this time the two would end up challenging for the TNA Knockouts (Women's) Tag Team Titles. In March 2012, Young became the first male to hold a Women's Tag Team title belt. A banner moment in the career of EY, for sure. The decision was met with as much excitement from fans as when Judy Bagwell was given the WCW tag titles fourteen years earlier, as critics weeped at TNA's attempt at comedy. It was the beginning of the end for the Knockouts Tag titles.
