10 HUGE NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 Predictions You Need To Know
8. A 6-Man Coin Flip
While New Japan are rightly lauded for the way they book their Heavyweight, Intercontinental, and Junior Heavyweight championships, the way they present their various tag belts often leaves a lot to be desired, with the NEVER Openweight 6-Man the worst affected.
The titles essentially exist to give unoccupied wrestlers something to do. They're not to be taken seriously, and while these bouts are generally skippable, the division at least allows for some wacky championship-winning combinations (like last year's bats*** insane Hiroshi Tanahashi/Manabu Nakanishi/Ryusuke Taguchi combination).
Like last year, the belts will be contested in a gauntlet match at Wrestle Kingdom, with most of NJPW's major stables (Bullet Club, Chaos, and Suzuki-gun) all represented. War Machine and Michael Elgin might be the most intriguing combination, though, given recent spats with each other on social media (and during last month's World Tag League shows).
The outcome is a total coin flip. The 6-Man Titles ultimately don't matter, with last year seeing them change hands at WK, then once more at New Year Dash the following evening. The outcome has no bearing on anything, and shouldn't be taken too seriously.
Winners: Chaos (Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano, & Beretta)
