Nyla Rose Addresses "Frustrating" Absence From AEW Television (AEW News)

Nyla Rose on ongoing AEW absence: "When's my turn?"

Having not wrestled an official match for AEW since November 2024, Nyla Rose has spoken about her frustration and wanting to be used more.

Appearing on the latest episode of Denise Salcedo's podcast (via f4wonline), Nyla addressed her ongoing AEW absence:

"It is a little hard, it is a little frustrating. In this business, you do have to be a little bit selfish to a degree, right? You can be selfish while being selfless, and this, I think, is one of those moments. I want more for myself. I want to do more. I want to entertain you guys more in a multitude of ways. So, it is a little frustrating when things like that happen, but there are amazing things happening. There are great things happening. So, being able to kind of sit back and see these things, see, like, Mercedes' rise to the top and win the AEW Women's Championship, and now she's starting to butt heads with Thekla. Things like this. Willow's whole journey. Like, things like that. It's, like, okay, you know, we can sit back and enjoy this as well, but damn it, when's my turn?"

As alluded to, Nyla Rose's most recent AEW TV match was back on a November 2024 edition of Rampage, where she teamed with Harley Cameron in a loss to Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa. To put that into perspective, AEW Rampage was cancelled 21 months ago, and Mariah May has been working for WWE as Blake Monroe for the past 15 months.

Nyla did work an AEW dark match shortly after that Rampage bout, and she worked three matches on last year's Jericho Cruise, which does technically fall under the AEW banner, but it's now approaching two years since the Native Beast wrestled on AEW programming. Away from Tony Khan's promotion, the former AEW Women's Champion has kept busy working for the likes of EVE, GCW, and JCW, as well as competing in Japan, where she's currently one half of the AAAW Tag Team Champions with Nightshade.
