A sliver of positivity now because tournaments are great!

Vince McMahon reportedly always hated the King Of The Ring, and apparently hates tournaments so much in general that he didn't even want the word uttered on his show. Announcers last year were told to call them "eliminators", if they absolutely had to exist.

It's perhaps why this World Cup is only one in name alone - it's a field without a single performer not from US shores, for a trophy that will be as meaningless as Braun Strowman's green Greatest Royal Rumble championship belt the second the wrestlers board the plane home on Saturday morning.

So let's book this one logically. Seth Rollins has spent the year impressing everybody with his impressive endurance, but he currently finds himself physically and emotionally broken thanks to a Dean Ambrose heel turn. Crown Jewel won't be his night - no night can be his night for the foreseeable future - as a rejuvenated Lio Rush-inspired Bobby Lashley marches on to the semi finals.

Winner: Bobby Lashley
