10 Hugely Popular Wrestling Theories That Were Wrong
2. Kenny Omega Is Heading To The Rumble (2017)
A year on from a rather Phenomenal WWE debut at the always surprising Royal Rumble event, fans were at it again with their ambitious predictions as to who would shockingly walk down the ramp in the 2017 edition of the titular encounter.
Following in his fellow Bullet Club star's footsteps, a Kenny Omega who was reassessing his wrestling future at the time was the name on most folks' lips. And not even The Cleaner's own confirmation that he wouldn't be at the then-incoming event could keep fans from feeling as though Omega was on the cusp of becoming WWE's latest eye-catching signing.
AJ Styles had done something similar a year before, don't forget.
The Face that Runs the Place also added some cheeky fuel to the Omega fire with an Instagram post hinting at the NJPW star's impending arrival.
However, after an already pretty star-studded Rumble bout, that had also come equipped with Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker, the buzz surrounding who would make that highly anticipated walk at number #30 soon turned into a sea of deflation at the sight of Roman Reigns being trotted out in the unenviable Omega-free spot.
