10 Hypothetical WWE Brawl For All 2016 Contestants
5. Chad Gable
The 1998 Brawl For All featured many WWE superstars of the same ilk. Reputed tough guy, mid-card talents (many with legit athletic backgrounds of varying levels) were given an opportunity to win some serious cash.
Unfortunately, the shoot fights did more damage to the competitors, both physically and from their character's perspective, when many talents suffered legitimate injuries, embarrassing losses and/or had their reputation for being a locker room bad-ass shattered.
Many ageing stars were never the same after competing in the half-boxing/half-amateur wrestling contests, with names such as Savio Vega, Road Warrior Hawk, Brakkus and, most notably, 'Dr. Death' Steve Williams coming to mind. Even the competition's eventual winner, Bart Gunn, had his 15 minutes of fame ended drastically when he was knocked out cold by Butterbean at WrestleMania XV.
Unlike some of those names, Chad Gable is a young, undersized, up-and-coming wrestler with tons of potential and would probably do well in the would-be tournament. Gable has an impressive history in amateur wrestling, not unlike his American Alpha tag team partner, Jason Jordan. Gable even made it to the 2012 Summer Olympics before signing with WWE in late 2013.
Chad's small frame would likely make him an underdog in the eyes of the average viewer, but anyone familiar with his pre-WWE wrestling credentials would know that he would make for a smart pick in a potential Brawl For All.
