Look, as far as we're concerned, there's really only one Superkick, and that belongs to the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels. Anyone who says otherwise needs to go back and watch each and every one of the flawless side kicks to the face he's delivered over his twenty plus year career.

But he wasn't the first wrestler who thought thrusting your foot into your opponent's jaw was a solid way to finish them off. No, that distinction belongs to "Gentleman" Chris Adams.

Fans of the old World Class Championship Wrestling would recognize Adams as a five-time World Champion who feuded with various members of the Von Erichs and the Fabulous Freebirds. In the late '90s, he also came back from the independent circuit to job on WCW Thunder to guys like Randy Savage.

But although his career may have taken a major step backwards, his superkick only seemed to get better with age. Adams, a black belt in judo who was a member of Britain's 1976 Olympic judo team, somehow made the move look even deadlier later on.

Maybe that's because Michaels had begun using the move during Adams' time away from TV and he wanted to remind the world about its origins.
