Date: 9 March 2000

Place: Laundromat, Boston

Weapons Used: Laundry detergent, broom, trashcan, laundry gel

The Mean Street Posse tracked Hardcore Champion Crash Holly to a Boston laundromat. Laundry is a top priority for wrestlers on the up. As anybody who has heard the stories of Wrestler’s Court knows, champions must dress befitting of champions.

The Posse began their plot with uncharacteristic calmness and clarity, with Rodney claiming his turn to become champion. They even ensure that referee Teddy Long is on side with the bribe of a steak to officiate the attempt. Lacking the Drake Maverick ingenuity of printing wanted posters, the Posse passed around the description: “little guy, blonde hair, hardcore, looks like Elroy Jetson”. Despite the action-packed brawl to come, Jerry Lawler’s voice-cracking excitement peaked early with him exclaiming “look at all of those people doing their laundry”.

Driven by either preparation, 24/7 paranoia, or a trauma-based fear triggered by sweater vests, Crash instinctively threw detergent in Rodney’s eyes, following up with a wooden broom broke over the back. The Posse’s plan turned into a pile-on. Crash began at the bottom, but infighting allowed him to slip away leaving the Posse to tumble around the laundromat.

Result: Crash Holly escaped with the Hardcore Championship and clean laundry for the next week.
