10 Impact Vs. New Japan Matches We Need To See
6. Josh Alexander Vs. SANADA
Excelling as part of a group in wrestling is one thing, but when you then manage to become a star on your own two feet, you accomplish something completely different. Just ask Josh Alexander and SANADA.
As members of The North and Los Ingobernables de Japon, respectively, both Alexander and SANADA were great. They did everything right, and made both themselves and their respective partners look solid. It was only after they began wrestling in singles action that fans realised their true potential.
'The Walking Weapon' has fast become a bonafide star in the X Division since splitting from the departing Ethan Page in Impact, having solid performances with the likes of TJP and Brian Myers.
As for SANADA, while still a member of the Tetsuya Naito-led faction, his usual tag partner EVIL leaving the group was a blessing in disguise. The former X Division Champion would go on to have a star-making G1 Climax performance last year, and the longest final in history vs. Kota Ibushi. Even in defeat, fans believed in SANADA.
With Josh seemingly on the cusp of becoming X Division Champion himself, why not have the LIJ member make a surprise return for a second run with the belt? Make it a Submissions Match; a battle of the Ankle Lock and the Skull End sounds ever so tantalising.
