10 Improvements WWE Have Already Made In The New Era

2. A Legitimate Women's Wrestling Revolution

The Divas Revolution started as an explosion, but ended as a whisper. Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte made their way to the main roster and initially took the division by storm, but after a few short weeks, the Revolution began a long, slow death.

Though featured more prominently before, WWE’s women continued to suffer from poor creative direction. Wrestlers were flip-flopping between alignments at such a rate where it didn’t even matter if they were face or heel, and while the division was laced with talent, the women always felt like they were being held-back by those who wrote their stories and plotted their matches.

Things are finally swinging in the right direction, however. Sasha Banks is among the company’s most talented and charismatic performers, and on Monday night, she and Charlotte wrestled an excellent match for the Women’s Championship. It was one of the best Raw matches in years, and when Sasha took the belt, the whole world celebrated with her.

In Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte and Becky Lynch vs. Natalya, WWE told two logical, cohesive storylines from start to finish. They finally took the reigns off their female performers and let them show the world what they can do, and it might have taken a whole calendar year to get to this point, but the Revolution finally feels like something to get excited about.
