10 Impulse Reactions Following WWE Elimination Chamber 2017

8. Baron's Big Night

Though his exit in the Elimination Chamber may have arrived quicker than some predicted, Baron Corbin followed the common company credo of 'maximising his minutes', and left the event no poorer for his pin-fall loss.

Rolled up by Dean Ambrose in a foolish moment of inexperience, 'The Lone Wolf' was protected by the booking strategy that came before and after his elimination, as he exhibited complete dominance over the entire field upon entering the match, and utterly destroyed 'The Lunatic Fringe' in the aftermath.

It was typical monster booking WWE have always been careful with, but in the case of Corbin, it also masks any major weaknesses as he prepares to celebrate his one year anniversary on the main roster with a big programme heading into WrestleMania.

Corbin has provided a major talking point from each 2017 pay-per-view so far, and would presumably be keen to carry that momentum on going into April.

That path is currently unclear, but the severity of the beating he dished out to Ambrose proffered a possible Intercontinental Title match should the company resist the urge to insert half the midcard into a multi-person ladder brawl at the 'Show of Shows'.
