10 Impulse Reactions Following WWE Money In The Bank 2017

1. The Power Of Love

Mike Maria Kanellis
WWE

Mike and Maria Kanellis took their long-awaited SmackDown Live! bow after stepping away from Impact Wrestling in March this year.

It was a typically assured vocal performance from Maria, who hadn't been seen in the company for seven years. In that time, she's valeted for the former 'Miracle' Mike in Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling and finally TNA, fleshing out the rather one-dimensional character WWE presented her with following a 2004 'Diva Search' debut.

Most expected Kanellis and real-life husband Bennett to come in with a dynamic similar to the one portrayed successfully on the independent scene for several years, but WWE's inventive spin looks certain to take them in a completely different direction.

Speaking confidently but about nothing in particular, Maria discussed her lengthy absence from the organisation as a way to reacquaint herself with the core audience, noting how their relationship and the 'Power of Love' would steer them to glory on the blue brand.

Their wickedly smug delivery was fantastic, and the 1980s schmaltz-laden music that bookended the diatribe was perfectly pitched.

'He took her name...?' noted an incredulous John 'Bradshaw' Layfield, stifling his disgust around an hour after a man had won the first ever Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.
