10 Incredible Stories Behind Famous Wrestling Themes

2. Shawn Michaels Nearly Didn't Sing His Own Lyrics

'Sexy Boy' by Shawn Michaels is one of those weirdly iconic pieces of pro wrestling entrance music. Let any non-wrestling fan hear the song, and it's highly likely they'll roll their eyes, wondering why in the hell anybody would want to listen to it, never mind sing along. In the wrestling world however, the music is always greeted favourably, and even the most gruff of grown men are not adverse to wailing out, "I'm not your boy toy" along with the lyrics.

Eventually settling on a version sung by Michaels himself, there have been several other versions of the track used throughout the years. Most memorably, Sherri Martel sang over the music during the period of time in the early-90s when she managed HBK, her character infatuated with the charismatic star.

There was another version recorded, apocryphally credited to none other than Vince McMahon. in all likelihood, the mystery vocalist is Jim Johnston, though it really has to be heard to be believed.
