2. Hulk Hogan (vs. Yokozuna - WrestleMania IX)
To this day, Bret Hart still harbours resentment for Hulk Hogan. Writing in his autobiography, the 'Hitman' reasons that fans didn't want to see Hulk on top of the mountain in 1993. That point has some merit, but it didn't stop the Hulkster from becoming WWF Heavyweight Champion as WrestleMania IX came to a close. In the card's main event, Hart had been beaten by the mammoth Yokozuna. The big man was now the champ, but his first reign with the gold would be very short-lived. In a baffling moment, Mr. Fuji stated that Yoko could defeat the mighty Hulk Hogan, and a quickfire, impromptu match was made for the title. Within a few minutes, the belt would change hands once again. Less than 30 seconds into their bout, Hogan dropped a leg on Yokozuna and snatched the WWF Heavyweight Title. There was an initial pop from the live crowd, but this was a step backwards for the promotion. Instead of coming across as a dominating heel, Yoko was simply another giant victim for Hulk Hogan.
