10 Indie Wrestling Acts WWE Must Sign For NXT In 2016

3. Ricochet

Back in 2014 when The Wrestling Observer reported that an indy star called Ricochet had a tryout with WWE but they€™d opted not to sign him, I didn€™t think anymore about it. I€™d never seen him wrestle and never knew much about it. However in the weeks following it, several friends of mine who are incredibly knowledgeable about wrestling would talk to me about it being a travesty that WWE wouldn€™t pick up such an amazing talent. I had to watch some of this guys work and see for myself. I ended up forgetting to watch his stuff but did check out Lucha Underground in October 2014 and quickly, my favourite became Prince Puma. I loved his high flying skills but the way that it wasn€™t a spotfest as such and his moves told part of the story in the match. I was hooked on the El Rey show and every week would be excited to see what Prince Puma would do next. Suddenly, after reading an article about the show, it dawned on me that it was Ricochet under the mask. Make no mistake about it, this young high flyer is one of the most incredible pro wrestlers in recent memory. He€™s worked in Japan as well as PWG, ROH and of course the groundbreaking Lucha show on the El Rey Network. It€™s often joked that Triple H has created his own indy fed with NXT. If that€™s the case, then Ricochet should be a number one draft pick. Sadly, Ricochet is under contract to Lucha Underground, but stranger things have happened and maybe by this time next year, he could be tearing it up on the WWE Network.
