10 Infamous UFC Bar Fights
4. B.J. Penn Gets Knocked Out By Bar Patron
'The Prodigy' B.J. Penn is a UFC Hall of Famer and one of only a handful of fighters to hold world titles in multiple weight classes.
Following a tough run in the UFC, in which 'The Prodigy' had lost seven consecutive fights. Penn's historic UFC career came to an end following a wild bar fight in Hawaii this past summer. As is often the case these days, the incident was captured on video.
The footage showed Penn on top of man (who was said to be an acquaintance), landing some hard shots, before ultimately being pulled off. The shirtless bargoer decided to follow Penn and would eventually land a big punch that appeared to render the former UFC champ unconscious. There are also conflicting reports that suggest it happened in the opposite order, with Penn attacking the man after being knocked out.
Whatever the case, it wasn't a good look for the UFC legend who had just been filmed fighting a bouncer outside a strip club a couple of months earlier.
Due to his prolonged losing streak, Penn was already on thin ice with the promotion. After the second bar fight, UFC President Dana White said that 'The Prodigy' would no longer be fighting for the organization.
White would go on to say, "After what I saw on that video, B.J. needs to focus on his personal life and get himself together before he thinks about fighting again."
