The Elimination Chamber has given us some amazing moments since its inception in 2002.

From a one-off gimmick at Survivor Series to a staple of the WWE calendar, the Elimination Chamber is one of the most elaborate and exciting gimmick matches in wrestling today.

It's crowned new champions, furthered epic storylines, and hosted a lot of great wrestling, but sometimes the Chamber has played host to some pretty dark moments.

As with everything in wrestling, the history of the Chamber is tainted with a few dodgy moments. Injuries, poor booking choices, and some downright awful matches, the match has seen its fair of the bad alongside the good.

The following ten moments are all infamous in their own way - some being way more serious than others. The consequences of some of these moments lingered for a few days, whilst a few impacted entire careers and, in one instance, the death of an entire brand.

Ahead of the 2020 event, let's look back at the ten most infamous moments to take place inside the Elimination Chamber.

10. Nia Jax Thwacks The Pod

We'll begin with one of the more recent chamber matches - the bout to decide the first WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.

The match was a pretty decent one with the awfully-named "Boss 'n' Hug Connection" picking up the win. Whilst Sasha Banks and Bayley walking away with the gold was a feel good moment, one person who was feeling all sorts of bad was Nia Jax.

As the biggest person in the match, responsibility fell to Nia to conduct the "crashing through the pod" spot that has dominated Chamber matches pretty much since they started. However, despite WWE having pulled this exact spot approximately seventy bajillion times before, something went wrong.

With a prone Bayley leant up against the pod, Jax began her run-up. As you would expect, Bayley got out of the way of the charging Nia, sending her crashing through the "glass".

However, for some reason, the material offered very little in the way of resistance, and Nia seemingly smacked her entire body into the hard wall of the chamber.

Whilst Nia was able to recover, this spot is still nasty to watch and could have easily gone a whole lot worse than it did.
