10 Insane Reasons Wrestlers Got Sued

5. Giving Another Wrestler Hepatitis - Abdullah The Butcher

Abdullah the Butcher was... and I'm not totally sure how to put this... very at ease with the idea of slicing up both his flesh, and that of his opponents, for the amusement of crowds of all sizes. 3,000 indie showpiece? He'll bleed everywhere for you. Bingo hall with 30 people (only 6 of whom weren't just on the guestlist)? He'll bleed everywhere for you.

Anyway, on a 2007 show, Abdullah was set to take on Hannibal in a match that nobody on earth was calling a "potential technical masterpiece". They came to blows, cut each other up, and everyone in attendance left feeling like they'd got their money's worth. However for Hannibal, real name Devon Nicholson, there was to be severe consequences.

Discovering that he had Hepatitis C, Nicholson took Abdullah to court alleging that he'd sliced them both with the same blade, causing the spread of the disease, and this had scuppered his chances of signing with WWE. Abdullah, in his defence, claimed that as Nicholson was the promoter he was just doing what he was told, but the court ordered him to pay $2.3 million in damages.
