10 Insane Wrestling Gimmicks (Probably) Coming Soon To WWE NXT 2.0
5. Mighty Mouse
This article has mostly been a bit of fun thus far, looking at WWE's past and possible future. But, in all seriousness, this bizarre and outdated gimmick idea isn't coming from out of nowhere: it's actually something Vince McMahon has wanted for a while.
McMahon once considered Adrian Neville (PAC) to be the worthy inheritor of the gimmick before being shut down. If there's one thing we know about Vince, it's that when he wants something badly, he usually gets it eventually.
Neville wasn't the only performer Vince eyed for this role, as he also attempted to recruit mixed martial artist Henry Cejudo for the gimmick, but that also ended up falling flat. The idea of taking a short wrestler and turning them into some sort of underdog superhero akin to the cartoon is something Vince now has the power to do down in NXT.
There are plenty of short-statured wrestlers in the world who can fly well and kick out some fantastic strikes, so it wouldn't be a big surprise if Vince is on the prow for one of them to take this cape and those ears.
